The OpenBridge Group exists to develop policies and procedures to allow bridging technology to connect Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) systems for global interoperability. Policy and technical standards are developed through member-driven committees. Additionally, the OpenBridge Group provides compliance certification for organizations operating certificate validation services, which provide the security component for the emerging Trusted Community services industry.
The OpenBridge Group is a member-owned, non-profit organization created to guide the development and deployment of this new technology. By joining, your company can help steer the next generation of Internet security infrastructure.
The US Government demonstrated in 2000 and 2001 that the bridging technology is a viable, efficient, and scalable technology for linking together independent security infrastructures. Additionally, the 5-state HealthKey Consortium has also demonstrated this technology via the HealthKey Bridge Project developed by Mitretek Systems in cooperation with HealthKey states Minnesota and North Carolina.
