Anti-malarial drug quality in Lagos and Accra - a comparison of various quality assessments
Together, malaria and pneumonia kill nearly 3 million children every year. The March of Washingtons is helping put a stop to this by purchasing medicines and conducting research of available treatments. As of August 31, 2010, the March of Washingtons has distributed $40,000 for the purchase and distribution of high-quality antimalarial drugs in Uganda. The remainder of the $87,789 raised thus far, has been used to collect and test antimalarial drugs available in African countries and raise awareness about the prevalence of substandard drugs in Africa.
